Professor Norman Sartorius is promoted to honorary doctor (dr.psych.h.c.)
Dear Professor Norman Sartorius,
The Faculty of Social Sciences has decided to promote you to honorary doctor in recognition of your outstanding contribution to international mental health as well as your advocacy for a public health view on mental health and for emphasising the complexity of how many interacting factors contribute to mental health - both in individuals and communities.
During your years as Director for the Division of Mental Health, World Health Organization Geneva, you played a decisive role in international classification of mental disorders and in cross-disciplinary research into the psychological and biological causes of mental illness. Thanks to you, we now have a better understanding of the links between social experience and mental health.
You have been and are a unique source of inspiration for generations of researchers in the field of psychology and mental health at the University of Copenhagen. It is therefore with great pleasure that the Faculty of Social Sciences promotes you to honorary doctor.

Professor Bernard N. Grofman is promoted to honorary doctor (dr.scient.pol.h.c.)
Dear Professor Bernard N. Grofman,
You are one of the most prolific American political scientists. For almost four decades, you have been part of the vanguard of scholars, who have applied the mathematical tools of micro-economics and game theory to the study of politics. You have made important contributions to voting theory as well as empirical studies of voter behaviour, electoral systems and parliamentary processes. These fields of research have all been selected as priority research areas by the Dept. of Political Science at the University of Copenhagen, where you work as an adjunct scholar at the Centre for Voting and Parties.
Your publications count more than 20 authored and edited volumes as well as more than 150 journal articles, including publications in the absolute top political science journals, with literally thousands of citations to them.
Your academic work is a source of inspiration and it is with great pleasure that the Faculty of Social Sciences promotes you to honorary doctor.
